Who am I ?
My name is Caroline Horschel, I am a psychotherapist in transactional analysis .
Transactional Analysis is my main working tool. It is a humanistic approach to psychotherapy which is one of four major trends recognized by law. It has as basic principle that all human beings have their own value and that everyone can achieve autonomy in his life.
My belief is that we cannot choose what happens to us, but we can always choose and decide how to react to these events. It is in our power to decide to change our behaviour and adapt it to whatever happens in our life. It is the same for our pain and suffering: we can recognize and decide to change the impact it has on our daily lives.
My psychotherapy is based on listening, welcoming emotions, reviewing decisions and change you to enable you to (re)take the reins of your life. You can integrate a therapeutic approach in any life situation (expatriation, divorce, bereavement, domestic violence ), stress, depression, anxiety, burnout, addictions, chronic or psychosomatic diseases ( eg fibromyalgia) .
I am of German origin, I’ve adopted Belgium and I believe in Europe. I grew up in Germany before coming to Belgium where I live with my partner and our three teenage sons. Having worked internationally and being an expatriate, I ‘ve always been an ambassador between different countries and cultures. In recent years I installed my practice in Walloon Brabant (Brabant Wallon), where I would be glad to receive you in English, German or French.
I am a member of the Belgian Francophone Association for Transactional Analysis (member of the Belgian Federation of Humanist Psychotherapy ) and the Platform Professionals in Mental Health (PsySM ). I am also certified and accredited by the International Coach Federation (ICF) .
I agree to abide by the Code of Ethics of the European Transactional Analysis ( EATA ) and the Code of Ethics of the ICF Association.
